Taxi industry roadshows

The Taxi Services Commission (TSC) commenced as the industry regulator on 1 July 2013 and assumed responsibilities for implementing the government's taxi reform initiatives.

The taxi industry reform recommendations support the TSC broadening its industry consultation and engagement approaches and to have a strong presence in both metropolitan and regional Victoria.

The TSC undertook a series of roadshows (in addition to other communications activities) to ensure the taxi industry was updated on key reforms.

The purpose of the roadshows was to educate taxi industry participants across the state and provide some detail and context around the major taxi reform initiatives being delivered in 2013-14.

Since this time, the TSC has continued to engage and update the taxi industry, key stakeholders, industry associations, advocacy groups and relevant agencies regarding the rollout of the reform agenda.

Public forums, industry roadshows and TSC presentations at Victorian Taxi Association regional meetings were conducted in metropolitan and outer suburban Melbourne, and across regional and country Victoria during  2013-14.

Should any further roadshows or events be considered by the TSC then the industry and other stakeholders will be advised accordingly.
