National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

From 1 July 2016, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will start to roll-out to regions across Victoria. The full roll-out will take place over the next three years. The NDIS supports people with a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to take part in everyday activities.

The NDIS will work with eligible individuals to develop a plan that ensures they are able to achieve their goals around independence, community involvement, education, employment and health and wellbeing.

The NDIS will change the way some MPTP user's taxi trips are funded. In the coming months, MPTP users will be contacted to let them know if and how the NDIS affects them.

MPTP users who are ineligible for the NDIS will have no changes to their taxi subsidy.

MPTP users who are eligible for the NDIS, will only be affected when they have an active NDIS plan in place.

To find out when the NDIS is available in your area, please check the roll-out schedule below.
