FAQs: Multi Purpose Taxi Program

How long does the membership last?

Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP) membership is for life.

Do I automatically receive membership if I am over 65 or retired?

No. You will need to meet the residential, medical and financial criteria.

If there is no public transport in my area, do I get the MPTP taxi card?

Do I need to give up my driver's licence to get the MPTP taxi card?

No. You can be a member and keep your driver's licence.

Can I get a temporary MPTP taxi card?

No. The taxi card is issued for life as it is for people with severe and permanent disability.

Do I have to be in a wheelchair to get the MPTP taxi card?

No. There is a specific taxi card for people who use a wheelchair or scooter and there is a different MPTP taxi card for other members.
