Driver certificate and smartcard

The TSC issues a Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP) smartcard to all accredited taxi drivers.

At the start of each shift, drivers must log on to the approved electronic transaction terminal compatible to process MPTP payments. The driver must remain logged on at all times during their shift and log off at the completion of their shift. Taxi drivers who are not logged on with their smartcard will be fined and may have their driver accreditation reviewed.

The smartcard shows the driver's name, driver licence number and driver accreditation number.

The look of the driver smartcard has recently been updated, however the use of the card and the MPTP Driver Conditions of Use remain unchanged.
